Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. has been shortlisted in the Health Insurance Company of the Year category of the prestigious Asia Insurance Industry Awards (AIIA).
The category specifically aims to recognize an insurance company’s innovation in its products and services, leading to an improvement in both the curative and preventative aspects of healthcare management. The winner is set to be announced on November 15, 2021 in a virtual awarding ceremony.
“To be named a finalist in the Health Insurance Company of the Year in the AIIA brings us pride because this is a testament to the efforts of our advisors and employees to help clients feel cared for and secure, especially in this pandemic,” Sun Life CEO & Country Head Benedict Sison said.
Since the pandemic broke out in early 2020, Sun Life has been launching various initiatives to help clients protect their health and secure their finances in these extraordinary times. Among these are the Digitally Enabled Selling process, Remote Online Medical Exam (ROME), Virtual Client Service Center, and Underwriting Helpdesk.
The company also introduced new health protection and digital insurance products, riders to supplement coverage of clients’ existing product portfolio, as well as new fund options for its investment-linked life insurance products. Meanwhile, clients were engaged online through wellness and workout videos, health and wellness webinars, and other relevant content.
Moreover, to expand its reach, Sun Life also entered into strategic partnerships with companies like Roche Philippines and Medicard.
“All these are but a fulfillment of our mission as our clients’ partner in health,” Sison said. “We are honored to be trusted with this important role in their journey to a healthier life.”
Sun Life was also previously recognized by AIIA as “Life Insurance Company of the Year” in 2015. It was the first time for a Philippine company to be bestowed the prestigious award.
