OKADA MANILA is poised to gain renewed business opportunities with the easing up of travel restrictions and tourism recovery gaining momentum. The COVID-19 lockdown in Macau, Asia’s premier gambling destination,  has also impacted the shift in travel and tourism activities to the Philippines with Okada Manila hoping to  benefit from these recent developments. Okada Manila in particular stands to gain from the Macau lockdown with its Gross Gambling Revenues (GGR) projected to return to 2019 levels by 2023. Should projections stay on track, the Philippines will be able to match Singapore in terms of GGR by next year and will potentially overtake it the following year to become the 2nd largest market in Asia.

In a report by Asia Gaming Brief, GGR from licensed casinos in the Philippines jumped by more than 29% in the 1st quarter of 2022 confirming the possibility that the Philippines will be one of the best performing markets in Asia moving forward. A large chunk of the 1st quarter income came from Manila’s Entertainment City of which Okada Manila is a major part of.

As the country’s largest integrated resort, Okada Manila is one of the best travel and tourist destinations that the Philippines has to offer with world class hotel amenities, incomparable dining experiences and top-of-the-line gaming facilities.

Okada Manila has once again opened for public viewing The Fountain, one of the Resort’s premier attractions. As of May 2022, 33 permanent tenants have already been operating in the hotel with 11 more expected to open until August 2022.

Okada Manila has been chosen as the official home of World Travel Expo Manila 2022, an annual event that hosts stakeholders from both the local and international  tourism industry in the Philippines. The event will bring together various tourism organizations and hospitality industry players, making the Travel Expo a one-stop shop for all the needs of travel enthusiasts. In partnership with Okada Manila, Ad Asia Events will be utilizing 5,758sqm of hotel space with 200 booths to be put on display for the duration of the event.

As a travel and tourist destination, the Philippines offers better value in terms of hotel, retail and food & beverage offerings than Singapore and in terms of pure gaming Manila, Clark and Cebu could all be visited in one 5-6 day trip offering 9-10 major integrated resorts as opposed to Singapore’s two.
